Mobile Friendly Websites

MOBILE FRIENDLY WEBSITES

A website needs to work on any device, all the time.

A few years back Google practically mandated that all sites should be “mobile friendly”. They needed to work on all devices, and they needed to load as quickly as they can. Both of these traits lead to a great user experience for your target audience - and that’s Google’s goal.

Around that time (2013-2014) most professional website experts started moving toward Responsive Website Design methodologies. This means that the website is built so that the elements and content on the site shift around so they can better fit on mobile devices. It also means things like clickable phone numbers, more easily read fonts, special navigation techniques, and quite a few other things - all with the intent of making the site work well on any device.

The facts are, that a couple years ago mobile use exceeded desktop use. That means more people visit websites on a mobile device than on a desktop or laptop. The numbers keep increasing, and there’s no going back. Mobile is the preferred choice for the majority of website visits.

Just imagine how quickly your target audience will leave your site if they can’t read it or navigate it while using their mobile device. Probably faster than it loads in the first place!

Think about your experiences: would you recommend a business if their website didn’t work on mobile? Would you be eager to do business with them? Sure - seems silly, but approximately 60% of those surveyed say they will not use or refer a business with a site that isn’t mobile friendly.

Don’t let a web design company tell you that you have to have a separate website for mobile. Turn to experts who only develop responsive, mobile friendly websites.
